CA DE RISSI - Dunfermline got their Primavera Tournament underway with a hard-fought 3-3 draw against Genova 07, featuring former Par Flavio Lenza amongst their ranks.
Vanin, the gaffer, deployed Semino in goal, Bovalino was paired with Frassinelli in defence, while Marletta took centre stage and was flanked by Cantelli and Finotti, with fellow debutant Stefano Rossi playing the lone striker role.
Literally seconds from kick-off and the Pars found themselves on the trail, as a long forward cross was beautifully headed past Semino by the Genova centre forward.
Dunfermline didn't lose their composure and started playing some intriguing football at time, with Cantelli posing the main and more constant threats to the opponents.
The Pars did equalise through a stubborn and effective initiative by Rossi, who controlled a high ball and turned before dispatching a right-footed effort which left the keeper a wee fazed, with the ball sliding past him.
Dunfermline looked good in possession, but a single mistake cost them heavily, as Bovalino and Marletta failed to combine on the edge of their own box, thus leaving one of Genova's midfielder with the easiest of finishes to re-establish them in the lead.
The Pars' opponents hit the woodwork with a long range effort, and so did Finotti at the other end, with a delicious chip shot which could have better luck.
Dunfermline, wearing their brand new red shirt for the first time in a competitive game, equalised once more with a marvellous counter-attacking move, started and finished by Frassinelli and also involving Cantelli and Rossi, whose square delivery left Frassi with a sitter in front of goal to make it 2-2.
Just before the half time whistle, Cantelli played a good square ball into the path of Marletta, the captain's shot powering just over the bar.

Proceedings were resumed and Dunfermline looked set to dominate the game, which they partially did as their tempo grew while the opponents' diminished.
A lot of possession and a couple of good chances, notably a great effort from Cantelli parried away in equal beautiful fashion by the keeper, were good grounds for the 3-2 goal, which saw Cantelli get rid of his direct opponent and unleashed a shot which cannonned off another defender, thus wrongfooting the goalie to make it 3-2.
Rossi and Cantelli combined beautifully on a counter attacking move, with the latter sending his effort just over the bar, either side of two Marletta free-kicks, both saved by Genova's keeper.
Just as Dunfermline looked to be on the brink of winning their opening game, they were punished on the break when Cantelli lost a precious ball just outside the opponents' box, thus triggering a counter attack with the side exposed.
Genova '07 had their equaliser with a shot from outside the box which left Semino with no chance.
Dunfermline had a further chance to win the game towards the end of the game, as Marletta produced a virtuoso trick and fed the ball into the path of Rossi, who squared the ball, only for Cantelli to fire just wide of the post.
A good game, a new beginning for a promising revival... But only one point.
