REAL SAMPIE 2 DUNFERMLINE 2

This term, Dunfermline may not be as quality as they were last season, but they're surely not short of character and grit, which were ultimately the main factors making for their first hard-gained point of the season away to Real Sampie.
With no manager, owing to Perugini's absence, and no substitutes following the last minute injuries of newly acquired midfielders Flavio Lenza and Enrico Miroglio, and that of Mattia Maneschi, and that, widely foreseen, of Alberto Buccianti, the Pars put up a gritty performance to twice come back from behind and collect a 2-2 draw.
Gianluca Lanata was deployed in goal, with Fausto Crosetti and Davide Filippi composing the defence. Aldo Marletta was again in the middle of the park, with Matteo Bovalino and Fabio Frassinelli either side of him and Federico Gallo completing the lineup upfront.
Dunfermline looked on song from the word go, and Gallo provided Marletta with a peach of a delivery, only for the No 5 to lash slightly wide from an excellent position.
Real Sampie took the lead against the run of play as a Lucentini left footed free-kick found its way onto the back of the net from the left handside of the pitch.
Dunfermline hit back and Frassinelli had a couple of chances to equalise, before the half time whistle came, leaving the Pars with a one goal deficit to make up for.

The second half got underway and Dunfermline, if not brilliant, were at least decent enough to pull off a fight.
Crosetti headed clear from a Real throw in, Marletta gathered the ball and fed it into Gallo's path, the forward timing his low drive perfectly to make it 1-1.
Lanata has some work to do, but Sampie's keeper's job wasn't any easier, Dunfermline creating the more and the better chances but failing to make them count.
From one of those, Real Sampie concocted a marvellous counter-attacking move which left Lanata with no possibilities as the ball strolled towards the back of the net.
Once again trailing by a goal, Dunfermline didn't lose their composure and sent their charges forwards, and deservedly found a leveller as Lanata played the ball into Marletta's path, with The Pars' midfielder waiting before sending a peach of a cross inside the box, only for Gallo to latch on the end of it to equalise once more.
Frassinelli had a glorious chance to seal the match for the Fifers, but his shot went over the bar following a neat through pass by Gallo.
The stand-in captain had yet another chance on the stroke of full time, as he headed the ball wide from a Marletta free-kick, but one point is good enough for the time being and a win just wasn't to be on the night.

Il Dunfermline versione 2008/2009 non sarà tanto qualitativo quanto quello della passata stagione, ma sicuramente non manca di determinazione.
Senza allenatore a causa dell'assenza di Perugini, e senza cambi: i nuovi acquisti Flavio Lenza ed Enrico Miroglio sono indisponibili a causa di infortuni, così come Mattia Maneschi. Le assenze si vanno a sommare a quella largamente prevista di Alberto Buccianti, così si comincia con Lanata in porta, Filippi e Crosetti dietro, Marletta in mezzo con ai lati Bovalino e Frassinelli, e Gallo di punta.
Il Dunfermline comincia bene, ed un ottimo pallone di Gallo trova Marletta in buona posizione, col tiro che finisce fuori di poco.
Ma è il Real Sampie a passare in vantaggio, con un calcio di punizione di Lucentini che trova l'angolo lontano.
Il Dunfermline si fa sotto, una punizione di Marletta viene deviata in angolo dal portiere, poi Frassinelli è sfortunato da distanza ravvicinata

Primo Tempo: Real Sampie 1, Dunfermline 0

La ripresa comincia ed il Dunfermline, anche se non in maniera brillante, si butta in avanti con l'orgoglio.
Il pareggio arriva quando Crosetti allontana dalla propria area di testa, Marletta prende palla e lancia Gallo in profondità, con l'attaccante che trova l'angolo opposto con perfetto tempismo.
Dunfermline che spinge, crea di più e soprattutto crea le migliori occasioni, ma è nuovamente il Real a passare in vantaggio, con un contropiede che fulmina la difesa scozzese e lascia Lanata con nessuna possibilità.
I Pars si rigettano avanti, meritano il pareggio che arriva quando Lanata lancia direttamente con le mani Marletta, che aspetta il momento giusto per produrre un bel cross in area, sul quale si fionda ancora Gallo che di prima trova ancora il pareggio.
Ancora Dunfermline in avanti, gran palla di Gallo per Frassinelli e palla alta, poi ancora Frassinelli quasi allo scadere devia di testa un lancio di Marletta, con la palla fuori di poco.
Primo punto in campionato e buona prestazione.

PREVIEW - Real Sampie

Dunfermline and Real Sampie have enjoyed a similar start to their league campaign, both losing out to Uruk Hai and A Selesiun respectively.
While Dunfermline are still in the Liguria Cup, though, Real Sampie had suffered an early exit from that competition as well, at the hands of Division C side Carrapippi.
Dunfermline will be without their manager, Leonardo Perugini, on the night, owing to his working duties. Marco Semino will deputise for the gaffer, as goalkeeper Gianluca Lanata will most probably make his second appearance for the club.
All defenders can be picked, and the midfield isn't entirely unlikely to see a couple of new signings' addition, but the real issue remains upfront, as in-form striker Alberto Buccianti is otherwise engaged and will miss the game.
Talks are in the process of being finalised for the double-swoop of Croce Verde Praese attacking midfielders Flavio Lenza and Enrico Miroglio, their availability on Sunday depending on whether AICS gives green light to the transfers.

Dunfermline and Real Sampie have never locked horns before.

He could do little to prevent the opponents' goals, and produced a marvel of a save to keep his side in business in the second half.

DUNFERMLINE 1 URUK HAI 2

Hard as it may sound, Dunfermline are not going to win 13 games in a row this year. End of story.
Division B may well be a tougher proposition than Division C, but the Pars seem to have forgotten how to win games, and although last night's performance wasn't either dreadful or disheartening, it is rather clear that the team are stumbling into their own frailty.

Perugini fielded Semino in goal, with Frassinelli and Crosetti composing the back two, Marletta, Bovalino and Gallo in the middle of the park and Buccianti completing the jigsaw upfront.
Dunfermline had more of the ball during the early stages of the game, Gallo's effort being parried away by Uruk Hai's keeper following a neat pass through from Marletta.
The Scots were knocking the ball about well, but still lacking a sort of finishing touch, which Uruk Hai applied, indeed, as they took the lead midway through the first period.
Uruk's forwards pushed on and a loose ball bounced off Marletta's thighs, only for one of the opponents to slash home from close range.
Dunfermline didn't look fazed, though, and they re-started proceedings looking the better side for a few minutes.
A series of back-to-back corner-kicks didn't produce much, but Bovalino had another glorious chance, with the opponents' keeper doing his best to keep the midfield player's effort out.
Just as it looked like Dunfermline were on the verge of equalising, Uruk Hai doubled their advantage, as Crosetti couldn't clear his lines properly and a midfielder struck home from long range, the dipping shot leaving Semino with little chance.

HALF TIME: Dunfermline 0, Uruk Hai 2

The second half got underway and Dunfermline pulled one back immediately.
Maneschi, on for Gallo in the first half, was fed by Marletta and fired from the right hand side, with a couple of Uruk Hai's defenders unable to get anything on the shot which found its path onto the back of the net following the thinnest deflection from Gallo, meanwhile thrust back on the pitch for Buccianti.
The Pars were back in business, but lost a few crucial balls in the middle of the park, still, producing a few interesting openings.
Marletta tried to level things up with a customary free-kick, but was denied by the crossbar.
Then it was Semino's time to try and keep his side in the game, with a couple of trademark last ditch saves.
Dunfermline's final onslaught produced little, though, and when the ref blew the full time whistle, the Fifers found themselves with a half-decent performance, and no points from their opening league game.

Potrà anche suonare severo, ma il Dunfermline non vincerà mai 13 partite di seguito quest'anno.
La Divisione B è sicuramente un contesto più arduo della C, ma i Pars sembrano avere dimenticato come vincere le partite, ed anche se la prestazione di ieri sera non è stata terribile, o scoraggiante, appare chiaro che la squadra inciampi talvolta nella propria fragilità.

Perugini schiera Semino in porta, Crosetti e Frassinelli in difesa, Bovalino, Marletta e Gallo a centrocampo, con Buccianti di punta.
Il Dunfermline comincia bene, Gallo si fa respingere un tiro dal portiere dopo un passaggio in profondità di Marletta.
Gli scozzesi fanno ogni tanto girare bene la palla, ma manca il tocco killer, che non manca invece all'Uruk Hai, che si porta in vantaggio.
Una palla vagante rimbalza sulla coscia di Marletta, e cade bene per la conclusione vincente di uno degli avanti avversari, 1-0.
Il Dunfermline ha a disposizione una serie di corner consecutivi, che non fruttano granché, poi Bovalino ha una grande chance, con un tiro che viene miracolosamente deviato dal portiere avversario.
Proprio quando sembra che i Pars siano vicini al pareggio, arriva la doccia fredda del raddoppio, quando Crosetti è sfortunato a rinviare corto, con un centrocampista dell'Uruk che indovina una grande traiettoria dalla distanza, con poco da fare per Semino.

PRIMO TEMPO: Dunfermline 0, Uruk Hai 2

Il secondo tempo inizia ed il Dunfermline accorcia immediatamente le distanze.
Maneschi, subentrato a Gallo nel primo tempo, viene servito da Marletta, ed il suo tiro in diagonale entra in porta dopo che un paio di difensori avversari non riescono a deviare il pallone, e dopo la più impercettibile deviazione di Gallo, nel frattempo rigettato nella mischia al posto di Buccianti.
I Pars sono di nuovo in partita, ma perdono palla a centrocampo con facilità, anche se creano qualche mezza occasione.
Una punizione di Marletta viene ribattuta dalla traversa, e quindi arriva un disordinato assalto finale che non sortisce gli effetti desiderati.
Al fischio finale, il Dunfermline si ritrova con una prestazione quasi buona, ma con zero punti.

PREVIEW - URUK HAI

Sunday's league curtain raiser is going to be the first ever meeting between Dunfermline and Uruk Hai, after both teams enjoyed a succesful start to the season in the Liguria Cup, where they disposed of fellow Division B sides Mojito FC and Sextum, respectively.
Both teams actually left it late, and went through on penalty kicks, Caridà scoring for Uruk Hai in a 1-1 draw, whereas Marletta, Buccianti and Gallo were on target for the Pars, as the scores were tied at 3-3 on the full time stroke.

Dunfermline will see the reinstatement of Marco Semino in goal, as the rotational policy concerning him and fellow keeper Gianluca Lanata will kick-in.
Defence-wise, Davide Filippi is going to serve a one-match-ban, following his caution against Alliance Utd in the 2007/2008 semifinal. On the other hand, Alberto Pittaluga looks poised to be involved, and will bolster the team's defending options, also comprising Fabio Frassinelli and Fausto Crosetti.
All midfield players are fit and available for selection, therefore Aldo Marletta, Matteo Bovalino, Mattia Maneschi and Federico Gallo should fight it out for three places in the middle of the park, whereas Alberto Buccianti will be likely to start upfront.

Dunfermline last won a competitive game against Amici di Berto at the quarter-finals stage last season, whilst Uruk Hai got relegated to Division C, only for the club to be reinstated to the second tier of AICS football, following a number of dismissals and rescissions on the part of other clubs.

L'apertura di campionato di domenica sarà il primo incontro di sempre tra Dunfermline e Uruk Hai, due squadre che hanno iniziato la stagione in maniera positiva, sbarazzandosi rispettivamente di Mojito FC e Sextum, entrambe squadre di Divisione B, al primo turno della Coppa Liguria.

In difesa, Davide Filippi è squalificato a causa di un'ammonizione rimediata contro l'Alliance Utd durante la semifinale della scorsa stagione.
Questo potrebbe aprire la strada alla convocazione di Alberto Pittaluga, che andrà ad alimentare un reparto già in grado di contare su Fausto Crosetti e Fabio Frassinelli.
Tutti i centrocampisti sono pronti e a disposizione, quindi è possibile che Aldo Marletta, Mattia Maneschi, Matteo Bovalino e Federico Gallo si giochino 3 posti in mezzo al campo, con Alberto Buccianti che dovrebbe essere riconfermato davanti.

Il Dunfermline ha ottenuto la sua ultima vittoria in partite ufficiali ai quarti di finale della scorsa stagione, contro gli Amici di Berto, mentre l'Uruk Hai, che era retrocesso in C, è stato ripescato a seguito di alcune rinunce e disputerà ancora una volta la seconda serie dell'AICS.

ANALYSIS - Mojito

GIANLUCA LANATA
Excellent debut for the keeper. He calmly controlled his defence and produced a fine string of saves before the penalty shoot-out, when he was absolutely relevant by stopping the opponents' second.
Eccellente debutto per il portiere. Ha dato calma alla difesa e ha prodotto una serie di begli interventi prima dei rigori, quando è poi stato fondamentale respingendo il secondo tiro dal dischetto degli avversari.

FABIO FRASSINELLI
The usual contribution at the back. He was unfortunate to put through his own net, but his performance was nearly stainless.
Il solito contributo dietro. Sfortunato a mettere il pallone nella propria porta, ma la sua prestazione è quasi senza macchia.

DAVIDE FILIPPI
Rock-solid and inspired, he hardly put one foot wrong on the pitch.
Solido come una roccia ed ispirato, non ha quasi sbagliato una mossa.

FAUSTO CROSETTI
A good debut for the newly acquired defender, who likes beating his man to the ball. He does have a tendency to go forward, which was costly in at least two occasions, but he should've been covered in those circumstances.
Un buon debutto per il nuovo acquisto in difesa, che ama anticipare l'uomo sulla palla. Ha una tendenza ad avanzare, il che è costato caro in almeno due occasioni, ma qualcuno avrebbe dovuto coprirlo in quelle circostanze.

ALDO MARLETTA
He picked up where he'd left off, by notching in a free-kick his customary way. When shifted on the flank, he lost his man on the 2-1 goal occasion, not his best performance to date but he's slowly getting to a decent state of fitness.
Ricomincia dove aveva interrotto, segnando su punizione in stile. Quando viene spostato sulla fascia, perde l'uomo in occasione del goal del 2-1, non la sua migliore prestazione di sempre ma sta lentamente arrivando ad un buon livello di forma.

The midfielder did well, especially in the first half, and never gave up. If his partnership with Marletta and Bovalino takes off, so will the team.
Il centrocampista gioca una buona partita, specialmente nel primo tempo, e non si arrende mai. Se la sua partnership con Marletta e Bovalino decolla, decollerà anche la squadra.

MATTEO BOVALINO
Quite simply, a hero. He's nowhere near an acceptable fitness, but you wouldn't notice. He ran and helped his defence out as usual.
Abbastanza semplicemente, un eroe. E' lontanissimo da una forma accettabile, ma non si direbbe. Corre e aiuta la difesa come al solito.

FEDERICO GALLO
By all accounts, man of the match. On as a sub midway through the second half, he shows what he can do and does something no one else had before him in the match: he got past opponents, thus creating openings and opportunities. His equalising goal was a peach and he'll give the gaffer a selection headache.
Comunque la si voglia guardare, uomo partita. Entra in campo a metà del secondo tempo e mostra ciò di cui è capace, facendo qualcosa che nessun altro aveva fatto prima di lui durante la partita: salta gli avversari, crando varchi ed opportunità. Il goal del pareggio è una meraviglia, e sicuramente porrà difficoltà all'allenatore.

ALBERTO BUCCIANTI
A totem of a striker. Inspired, on song, he made his own chances, before latching onto a loose ball to pull one back before stoppage time. He's the answer to the team's upfront frailty.
Un attaccante che è un totem. Ispirato, in forma, si crea le sue chance, prima di accorciare le distanze fiondandosi su una palla non trattenuta dal portiere prima del recupero. E' la risposta alla fragilità offensiva della squadra.

DUNFERMLINE 3 MOJITO FC 3 (Dunfermline through on penalties)

Dunfermline pulled off a trademark great escape to set up a penalty shoot-out, from which they emerged as victors to book their place into Liguria Cup's second round, where they'll face old rivals Compagnia delle Indie.
Perugini gave goalkeeper Gianluca Lanata his debut, with Davide Filippi and Fabio Frassinelli composing the back-two. Aldo Marletta was in the middle of the park, with Mattia Maneschi - aslo making his debut in a Pars' shirt - and Matteo Bovalino either side of him, Alberto Buccianti completing the starting VII upfront.
Mojito took the lead from a Vigne free kick, which was accidentally put through his own net by the oncoming Fabio Frassinelli.
Much in the same way, Dunfermline equalised from a set-piece, as Marletta's free-kick balanced things up midway through the first half.
Buccianti looked on song, and indeed could've established his side in the lead, but his brilliant control and dribble came to little effect as his effort was calmly saved by Mojito's keeper.

HALF TIME: Mojito 1, Dunfermline 1

Proceedings re-started in the second half, defender Fausto Crosetti was also given the nod to make his debut as he stepped in for Frassinelli.
Dunfermline had the more and the better chances, but still trailed by two goals with only a handful of minutes remaining, following as many defensive blunders which handed their opponents two clear-cut chances amounting to as many goals.
At 3-1 down, Dunfermline had a number of chances, Federico Gallo, thrust onto the pitch midway through the second period showing brilliance and composure, though.
Buccianti pulled one back as Mojito's keeper fumbled a long range effort from Marletta, and th Tuscan striker latched onto the loose ball to blast home from close range.
Along came stoppage time, and Gallo showed what he's capable of, by getting past a couple of opponents, before coolly opening his account for the club with a low drive.

FULL TIME: Mojito 3, Dunfermline 3

PENALTY KICKS: Marletta opened the scoring and Mojito responded, then Buccianti did his job from the spot, albeit with a very edgy execution which bounced in, controversially, following a clean touch by the keeper. Gallo then finished Mojito off with a cool conversion to make it 6-4 on aggregate and send the Pars through.

Il Dunfermline passa il turno di Coppa Liguria grazie ad un film già visto. Una rimonta incredibile che fa sì che i Pars si giochino il prossimo turno contro i vecchi rivali della Compagnia delle Indie.

Buccianti appare ispirato, e dopo un ottimo controllo e dribbling, si fa ipnotizzare dal portiere che gli nega il 2-1.

Comincia la ripresa con un altro debuttante, il difensore Fausto Crosetti dentro per Frassinelli e, sebbene il Dunfermline si procuri le migliori occasioni, il Mojito si ritrova in testa di due goals con solo una manciata di minuti da giocare.
Questo accade come conseguenza diretta di due errori difensivi capitalizzati al meglio dagli avversari.
Federico Gallo, altro debuttante, mostra abilità e tecnica, comunque.
Buccianti accorcia le distanze quando un tiro di Marletta non viene trattenuto dal portiere, e nel recupero Gallo si beve due o tre difensori avversari prima di siglare la prima rete per il club con un preciso rasoterra.

FINALE: Mojito 3, Dunfermline 3

RIGORI: Marletta va a segno, il Mojito risponde, dopodichè Buccianti fa sudare la panchina con un'esecuzione sulla quale il portiere ha un tocco pulito, prima che la palla rotoli lentamente in rete. Lanata para il secondo tiro dal dischetto del Mojito, e Gallo si regala la serata perfetta mandando il Dunfermline al prossimo turno.

PERUGIA SPEAKS HIS MIND

Sunday's Liguria Cup tie against Mojito FC may mark his competitive debut as The Pars' manager, but Leonardo Perugini already has set his ideas ahead of the encounter and, more broadly and more importantly, the whole season ahead of his ranks.
"We've got a good squad, and I believe there's no reason why we shouldn't extend last season's results, we can possibly repeat that, I firmly believe it" the gaffer said
"Of course, we'll be missing a player capable of scoring about 40 goals last term for quite a while, nevermind the huge number of assists he produced" continued Perugini clearly turning his attention to injured star Marco Cantelli.
But Perugini also highlighted which, in his view, will be the countermeasures necessary in order to make up for the absence of such a notable player.
"Well, our only way out of it, is to perform with what we have, and when I say perform I mean tactically, essentially. AICS championships and tournaments brim with good technique and good physical level, but they're not the richest tactically"
Perugia elaborated on that notion
"If I can get some basic movements into my players' minds, and we start moving and playing as a collective unit, then I think the results will come".

Dunfermline will take on Archinav in a friendly game at their home ground, Ungaretti, tomorrow night

La partita di Coppa Liguria di domenica, contro il Mojito FC, sarà anche il suo primo match ufficiale da allenatore dei Pars, ma Leonardo Perugini ha già le idee chiare sull'incontro e, più in generale, sulla stagione che si prospetta davanti ai suoi ragazzi.
"Abbiamo una buona squadra, e credo che non ci sia ragione per la quale non estendere i risultati della stagione scorsa, forse possiamo ripeterci, ci credo fortemente" ha detto l'allenatore.
"Certo, per qualche tempo, ci mancherà un giocatore capace di segnare circa 40 goals la stagione scorsa, senza contare il gran numero di assist", ha continuato Perugini, chiaramente riferendosi alla stella, infortunata, Marco Cantelli.
Ma Perugini ha anche illustrato quali, secondo lui, siano le contromisure da adottare per sopperire all'assenza di un tale giocatore.
"Beh, l'unico modo che abbiamo per uscirne, e fare il meglio con quello che abbiamo, e quando dico fare il meglio intendo tatticamente, in sostanza. I campionati ed i tornei AICS sono molto validi dal punto di vista fisico e tecnico, meno curata è invece la parte tattica"
Perugia si è spiegato
"Se riesco a far entrare nelle menti dei giocatori alcuni movimenti base, e se cominciamo a muoverci come un'unità collettiva, allora i risultati arriveranno".

Il Dunfermline giocherà un'amichevole contro l'Archinav domani sera, sul campo di casa, Ungaretti.

PREVIEW - Mojito

Dunfermline will take on Mojito FC in a first knockout round of the Liguria Cup on Sunday.
The teams have locked on twice in the past, both times in the 2006/2007 season and both times with Mojito having the better of the Scots, who made their competitive debut and collected a 3-1 home defeat against the Green and White outfit.
When the teams met in reverse fixtures later in the season, Mojito won again, that time by 4 goals to 1, with Luca Gemignani getting the only goals for the Pars on both occasions.
Mojito attained promotion to the second tier of AICS football, and were followed by Dunfermline almost a year on, so the teams will be included within Division B roster for the 2008/2009 season.
A blow was dealt to Dunfermline earlier today, as it was announced that new sensational signing Davide Calautti is likely to miss a handful of games as he tries to recover from a relatively serious injury.

Il Dunfermline affronterà il Mojito FC nel primo turno ad eliminazione diretta della Coppa Liguria domenica.
Le squadre si sono affrontate due volte in passato, entrambe nella stagione 2006/2007 ed entrambe le volte col risultato finale che ha visto il Mojito avere la meglio sugli Scozzesi, il cui debutto ufficiale risale per l'appunto ad una sconfitta in casa per 3-1 contro i biancoverdi.
Al ritorno, in quella stessa stagione, il Mojito vinse ancora, quella volta per 4-1, con Gemignani a segno per i Pars in ambedue le occasioni.
Il Mojito venne poi promosso alla seconda serie dell'AICS, e venne seguito dal Dunfermline circa un anno più tardi, il che significa che le squadre prenderanno parte alla Divisione B nella stagione 2008/2009.
Una brutta notizia è arrivata per i Pars nella giornata di oggi, con l'annuncio che il nuovo sensazionale acquisto Davide Calautti probabilmente salterà alcuni incontri, dovendo recuperare da un infortunio relativamente serio.

FRIENDLY - Dunfermline 2 Pegli Team 1

Dunfermline owe their nickname, The Pars, to the poor performances the club put out in the 1920s, and the consequent labelling of "Paralytics", then onwards simply The Pars.
Their Genoese version, about 80 years on, is struggling to hit much needed form peaks, but at least the final result of last night's friendly encounter, albeit too tight for an opposition that poor, brought some sort of relief and although the performance was far from convincing, at least slight signs of improvement could be seen.
Buccianti netted a first and an own goal did the rest, both goals coming from as many sharp crosses from Frassinelli.
Perhaps, the best news of the night came from the positive attitude shown by new signing Mattia Maneschi, whose pace and passing proved remarkable.

La versione Genovese del club, dopo circa 80 anni, sta incontrando difficoltà a raggiungere i necessari picchi di forma, ma almeno il risultato finale dell'amichevole di ieri sera, quantunque troppo risicato contro un avversario piuttosto debole, ha portato un po' di sollievo, e sebbene la prestazione sia stata tutt'altro che convincente, si sono visti minimi segni di miglioramento.
Buccianti ha segnato un goal al quale si è poi aggiunta un'autorete, entrambe le segnature sono arrivate come diretta conseguenza di altrettanti cross di Frassinelli.
Forse, la migliore notizia della serata è venuta dal carattere propositivo della prestazione del nuovo acquisto Mattia Maneschi, il cui passo e abilità di passaggio sono apparsi importanti.

PARS LAND MANESCHI

Dunfermline have signed 19-year-old midfielder Mattia Maneschi for the 2008/2009 season.
The talented player shall make his debut in a Pars shirt tonight, in a friendly game against Zonale side Pegli Team.
Maneschi fills the remarkable gap left by the departures of Di Noto and Borreani and will most probably make his full competitive debut on Sunday week, in the season curtain-raiser against Mojito FC, in the Liguria Cup first knock-out round.
Former Sestrese forward Calautti is also a swoop target for the board, reportedly.
