PREVIEW - New Reds Ponente

Dunfermline take on New Reds Ponente at their home ground of G.Mora on Sunday night, for a match that will surely tinkle The Pars' hearts thinking back of the time when the sides met in reverse fixtures earlier this term.
On the back of their first - and thus far only - defeat on the pitch, and having just seen their only league point written off by a correct FA decision, Dunfermline were without goalkeeper Semino, defender Filippi and midfielder Marletta ahead of a game which could well have been the last in the Fifers' history.
On the pitch problems looked even more serious as replacement goalkeeper Nozza was run over in a car accident and couldn't make the squad, whilst the club's future appeared to be slowly but inevitably ebbing away as the former sponsor (...) unilaterally withdrew from the agreement with the club to have the lads all but on their knees.
Still, Dunfermline produced a stunning performance, Frassinelli was deployed in goal, defender Andrea Sorbara made his debut, and this far his only appearance for the club, gaffer Luigi Vanin included himself in amongst the substitutes and thrusted himself onto the pitch as the other debutant, goal boy Andrea Borreani, limped off the pitch with a broken ankle.
It took a hat-trick from Cantelli and a goal from Buccianti to give The Pars their first league victory by 5 goals to 2, perhaps the most significant of all wins, as it was the first in a string of 11, still running at present.
Lots of things have changed since, and New Reds haven't quite lived up to the expectations, as they were considered to be the top team in the group and are actually languishing in 9th place, 5 points adrift of the playoff zone and miles behind Dunfermline.
So much so, that The Pars will have to keep their focus if they don't want to incur a banana-skin game, one that will be played out at a ground where the home side have never lost this season, but where they have rarely produced outstanding performances, mainly due to the all too well-known narrowness of the park.
Dunfermline will be without Cantelli, who'll be serving his one match ban following his 3rd caution of the season, whereas Perugini will be once again deployed in goal owing to the contemporary absence of influential No 1 Marco Semino.
Di Noto should make the squad instead, although it is unclear whether that means Borreani will be left out owing to FA regulations prohibiting that the pair play together owing to their FIGC status.
There are no news of any further injuries or illness preventing any of the lads from being involved, so Luigi Vanin will be able to choose from the following squad:

GK: Perugini
D: Buttitta, Filippi, Frassinelli
M: Bovalino, Borreani, Marletta, Di Noto, Alberga
F: Buccianti

GAMEWEEK 13 - Results / Review

XENEIXES - AMICI DI BERTO 2-7
Mostes (2) / Guastavino, Steiner (3), Calcagno, Bruzzone D., Castiglia
Steiner produced yet another stunning performance to score a hat-trick and help his side retain top spot in what appeared as a favourable round of play for the league's front runners.
Mostes, who is one of many strikers associated with a possible move to Dunfermline, pulled two back, but it all looks doom and gloom for Xeneixes, now 9 points adrift of the playoff zone.

DUNFERMLINE - LAS CUEVAS 4-1
Buccianti (2), Marletta, Cantelli / Bartolomeo
The Pars collected their 11th win on the bounce to defeat the only side capable of defeating them on the pitch in the league this term. Las Cuevas are now 8 points behind the top two and have seen their streak of 5 wins in a row brutally disrupted by the Scots, still a point behind table toppers Berto.

LE CAFE - COMPAGNIA DELLE INDIE 5-3
Frascatani (2), Puggioni (3) / Pedullà M., Catanzano, Mistretta
Le Café added to Compagnia's misery by recording an important home win courtesy of a hat-trick by Puggioni, Frascatani adding a brace to all but cancel off the away side's goals from Pedullà, Catanzano and Mistretta.
Le Café are still 3 points behind Dunfermline and sitting 3rd, whereas Compagnia currently occupy the final playoff slot available, their 4 point cushion over New Reds not looknig that comfortable.

SAMPIERDARENA - ASTON VILLA SCASSI 8-0
Ferrea A. (7), Verduci /
It was a one man show, as league top-scorer Ferrea added to his already brilliant form by scoring as many as 7 goals against hopeless bottom side Aston Villa.
Verduci added another and Sampierdarena have now closed the gap on 4th placed Las Cuevas to just one point.

INTERNAZIONALE - NEVER ALONE SOCCER 4-7
Quirino, Noli, Raschellà (2) / Ferrari, Parodi (2), Dell'Olio (3), De Alexandris
Internazionale were - and long will be - without their main marksman Argirò but still managed to produce 4 goals, however Never Alone netted 3 more to definitely end any residual hopes of making the playoff for the Ca de Rissi based side.
Never breathe some fresh air after a string of poor results and find themselves level on points with Borussia in 6th place.

NEW REDS PONENTE - BORUSSIA 1-4
Ilardo / Pedemonte, Motta (2), Robistelli
New Reds failed to take any points from their home tie against Borussia, and therefore couldn't take any advantage of the latest in a number of slip-ups Compagnia incurred.
However, their 4 point distance from 8th berth has remained unscathed and their playoff ambitions still in place.

LAS CUEVAS - Analysis

LEONARDO PERUGINI
His debut came against the only side capable of defeating The Pars on the pitch, and doubts were raised as Semino proved an influential figure inside the dressing room and, more importantly, on the pitch.
However, Leo produced the finest of performances to deny Las Cuevas and could only watch the ball hitting the back of the net when it did. No responsibilities on that, and plenty of goalkeeping quality when called upon. The Pars may have found a new asset.

FABIO FRASSINELLI
There must be some reasons to justify the fact Dunfermline's defence is the best of the league group. Once again, he used his marking and tactical awareness to snuff out attacks, and then turned into stand-in manager at half time, decisively contributing to the coasting to victory.

DAVIDE FILIPPI
Pace and tackling are in amongst his most recognisable skills, and he once again fully used them to partner Frassi in the first half and Buttitta in the second. As for Frassinelli, there must be some reasons to justify the fact Dunfermline have conceded the fewest goals in the league.

GIUSEPPE BUTTITTA
There must be some reasons to justify etc... Giuseppe produced yet another brilliant performance, staking his claim for more regular first team football, which he's getting, though.
He's a reliable and trustworthy defender, definitely.

MATTEO BOVALINO
His delivery for Cantelli's 18th of the season was absolutely magnificent. Moreover, he constantly helped his side in midfield and produced a number of fine passes upfront, notably he contributed to Buccianti's opener in quite some style. Man of the match.

ALDO MARLETTA
Away games, he fires from all positions and slots. Home games, his shooting is often restrained to a few chances. He took three free-kicks and converted one of those into the 2-0 goal.
Took a few corner-kicks which proved dangerous enough, and that let alone, he was left to battle it out against Las Cuevas' midfielders.

ANDREA BORREANI
His running was sparkling and caused a few too many problems to the opponents' defence.
He forced a red-card and number of dangerous set pieces. He's an added value to the side and seems to have fully recovered from his niggling injury problems.

MARCO CANTELLI
No news, good news. When Marco plays at his standard level, he often scores, and the team often wins. He scored the goal which sealed Dunfermline's victory in style, unfortunately he was cautioned, which will result in a one-match-ban against New Reds. His presence will be sorely missed for sure, although the lads have widely shown they can cope with anyone's absence.

ALBERTO BUCCIANTI
He scored two stylish goals, to cap as many brilliant collective moves. He flicked on a few as well, which is absolutely pivotal when the midfielders have a chance to attack space and wreak havoc.
He surely is a natural born goalscorer.

GIUSEPPE ALBERGA
His second cap of the season came against a much tougher side than Aston Villa Scassi, and he proved his worth upfront, going close once or twice.
His real chances may soon come, meanwhile he's a beloved presence inside the dressing room.

REFEREE CAVIGLIA
He had a good game, overall. He correctly dismissed a Las Cuevas' defender for a lunge at Borreani, however Cantelli shouldn't have been carded, and that may prove costly. Apart from that, he handled the game calmly and easily.

DUNFERMLINE - LAS CUEVAS 4-1

As a consequence...

Dunfermline were manager-less on the night, as Gaffer Vanin failed to turn up owing to debatable personal issues, however The Pars looked somehow unfazed and cruised to their 11th win in a row, by beating Las Cuevas, which had been the only side capable of snatching all three points on the pitch against the Scots.

Minutes to the kick-off, the lads had to rush things and presented referee Caviglia with a last-minuted filled in list, including debut goalkeeper Perugini, defenders Frassinelli and Filippi, midfielders Marletta and Bovalino, Cantelli and Buccianti completing the side upfront.

Alberga, Borreani and Buttitta sat on the bench and witnessed a good start on the Pars' part, although it took a great save by Perugini to preserve a provisional blank score after Leger fired a pinpoint drive at an early stage.

As for indeed many of their home games, Dunfermline's ability resulted kind of marred by the narrowness of their home ground, so they couldn't do it their prettiest way, however they put up the usual fighting game and deservedly took the lead through Buccianti.

Bovalino and Cantelli combined extremely well to provide their Tuscan team-mate with a comfortable ball, which was lashed into the back of the net by The Pars' No 2.

Las Cuevas' attacks were constantly snuffed out effectively, owing to the usual cooperation between defenders and midfielders, Cantelli proving once again an asset to the team, as he often contributed at the back to help his side.

It took a customary Marletta's free-kick to widen Dunfermline's lead, as Cantelli himself was fouled outside the box.

Clegg drove the ball low from the ensuing piece, to hit the interior face of the right hand post before the ball found its way over the line.

HALF TIME: Dunfermline 2 Las Cuevas 0

Wanyn's absence meant someone needed to handle proceedings, therefore a brilliant Frassinelli stood in and magnificently managed the side at half time.
He took himself off and introduced Buttitta, whereas Bovalino made way for Borreani.
The latter provided the extra bit of spark upfront, combining well with Buccianti and Cantelli.
It was Cantelli who, after missing a chance to make it 3-0, provided Buccia with a great ball, only for the striker to collect his brace and all but finish the opponents off.
Cantelli spurned another glorious chance with a close-range header, which was brilliantly saved by Cuevas' goalkeeper.
Las Cuevas pulled one back courtesy of a marvellous individual effort, but it was Cantelli who sealed it after Marletta blocked a free-kick attempt from Leger and Bovalino fed the most inviting of ball into the path of Cantelli, who proved too hot to handle for his opponent and made it 4-1 with a stylish finish.
Borreani was fouled towards the end of the game, thus causing the sending off of his marker, whereas Cantelli picked up a yellow-card, which means the forward will not be available for next game through suspension, having collected 3 cautions this league term.

GAMEWEEK 13 - Preview

Table toppers Amici di Berto will pay a visit to struggling side Xeneixes, looking to keep - or widen - their point cushion over Dunfermline.
Xeneixes are close to raising the proverbial white flag playoff-wise, as they sit 8 points adrift of 8th spot and do not look any likely to pull off any great escapes.
Berto have only dropped points twice this year, as well as Dunfermline, whose only on-the-pitch defeat came against their weekend rivals, Las Cuevas, currently sitting 4th and on a run of 5 wins on the bounce, as opposed to 10 on the trot collected by their opponents.
Le Café will try to make the most of this favourable matchday, as they take on dogged Compagnia delle Indie, whose defeat last week has left them with a lot of ground to make up for in the quest for the high-flying positions.
Elsewhere, Sampierdarena will have an easy tie against bottom club Aston Villa Scassi, looking to cement their 5th position and, depending on results and scorelines from other grounds, approach 4th place.
New Reds Ponente and Borussia take one another on in what could well prove to be a real six-pointer, as the home side are now only 3 points behind the Pinkies and the playoff zone, after having collected a priceless victory against Xeneixes last week.
Never Alone Soccer, on their part, need to recoup their initial games form, if they're to avoid any bad surprises, and they might've been just landed a sort of lifeline, as they take on Internazionale, a troubled side on the back of some heavy disciplinary action concerning their main man Argirò, who's been suspended for four-and-a-half-years following his headbutting of referee Sanchez last Sunday.

PREVIEW - Las Cuevas

Las Cuevas have been the only side capable of beating The Pars on the pitch during their league campaign this season.
The first ever encounter between the sides was played out on Matchday 2, at Cuevas' home ground of St Desiderio, and ended up in a 4-3 defeat for Dunfermline.
Buccianti and Bovalino had cancelled off a two goal deficit before half-time, but Las Cuevas regained the lead in the second period, only for Marletta to equalise yet again.
Di Noto, making his first appearance for the club, was sent off late on and the home side finally snatched all three points, having the better of a six-man Pars side.
A few days later, Dunfermline were condemned by the FA and found themselves with no points from the two initial games - and on the back of an early exit from Coppa Liguria as well - after their 3-3 draw against Compagnia Delle Indie was rightly overturned for a breach of signings regulations, and transformed into a 0-4 defeat.
Dunfermline have since collected 10 wins on the bounce - including a similar and favourable FA decision against Sampierdarena - and are on a wonderful run, sitting 2nd, just one point adrift of table-toppers Amici Di Berto, whereas Las Cuevas are currently sitting 4th and on a streak of 5 wins in a row.
Dunfermline will be without influential goalkeeper Marco Semino, away for a trip to Santo Domingo and contextually carrying a niggling groin injury, which will pave the way for the debut of newly acquired Leonardo Perugini in goal.
Midfielder Di Noto is also tipped to miss the game, although he could be a last minute surprise inclusion in the side, skiing activity permitting.
It is also unclear whether Borreani and Alberga are going to be involved, however Frassinelli should recover in time to face the Reds and as of now there's no news of other possible absentees for this crucial game.

GAMEWEEK 12 - Review

Amici Di Berto are still on top of the league table, after beating second-bottom Internazionale by 7 goals to 4 at the weekend. Amici have only dropped points twice this season and they've only lost one game, at home to Dunfermline, whose second spot was consolidated with their first ever win against in-crisis Compagnia Delle Indie.
Vanin's men are now on a streak of 10 wins on the trot and maintain a 3 point cushion over 3rd place Le Café, which saw Borussia opposition off courtesy of a stylish 2-0 away win.
Las Cuevas and Sampierdarena have also kept the forerunners' pace, by gettingrid of Aston Villa Scassi (7-0) and Never Alone Soccer (4-2) respectively.
Never Alone are at their lowest this term and, together with Borussia, they now have a dangerous 3 point gap over newly ambitious New Reds, whose win against Xeneixes may well have triggered new hopes of making the playoff zone.

COMPAGNIA DELLE INDIE - Analysis

MARCO SEMINO
Once again, he proved fundamental with his saves and presence in the box. Notably, he denied Compagnia a 4th by literally flying to parry a far corner bound free kick and, albeit with the help of the right hand post, he produced another spectacular save when it mattered most.

GIUSEPPE BUTTITTA
He was calm and cool in controlling Catanzano in the second half. He made his physical presence felt and never lost composure. Moreover, he created a couple of interesting openings with his good use of the long balls.

DAVIDE FILIPPI
Man of the match, Fernandez even went close to opening his goal account for The Pars. That let alone, his pace and marking were absolutely sharp and effective. He produced an excellent delivery for Di Noto to make it 4-0 before half time.

ALESSIO DI NOTO
He played an awesome game. He scored the easiest of goals, however he also contributed with his passing skills and showed more pace than usual. He's become an asset to the team.

ALDO MARLETTA
He scored his customary long range, dipping shot goal, to all but end Compagnia's hopes of a comeback. He got a few knocks, and knocked a few opponents down as well, while containing opposition's attacks.

MARCO CANTELLI
Ready, steady go! He scored two goals which paved the way for The Pars to an easy win. His class can't be questioned and he constantly wreaks havoc in the opponents' defences.
Wonderful game.

MATTEO BOVALINO
He scored what could be arguably defined the most important goal on the night, right on the back of two netted by Compagnia, to re-establish Dunfermline's 3 goal cushion.
He ran and ran and ran some more, blocked a few attacks and provided lots of sharp passes.

ALBERTO BUCCIANTI
Once again, he was in the right place at the right time, so what more can you expect of a striker?
He spent all game fighting against Compagnia's back two and proved his worth not only by scoring an important goal, but also flicking on balls and providing Clegg with his customary laid back assist.

GAFFER LUIGI VANIN
He returned to his old well-trusted first half substitution, as he replaced Buccianti with Bovalino. In the second half, his rotation of the players was as good as usual and, although Compagnia tried to pull off a great escape, he made all the right moves to deny them.

REFEREE MODICA
She handled the game beautifully, by playing down any possible protests arising from a few controversial episodes. She yellow-carded one apiece but thoroughly and efficiently controlled the game.
Superb performance.

COMPAGNIA DELLE INDIE - DUNFERMLINE 3-6

Dunfermline thumped Compagnia delle Indie by 6 goals to 3 in what had been considered as a sort of rival derby between two in-form sides, whose fortunes, though, may well take different paths after such an embarrassing difference in potential was shown on the pitch last night.
Gaffer fielded an attacking side, by deploying Semino in goal, Buttitta and Filippi at the back, Di Noto, Marletta and Cantelli in midfield and Buccianti upfront.
Frassinelli could only make the bench, after suffering the recurrence of a knock on his right knee, whilst Borreani injured his shoulder and was relegated to the sidelines.
It took Cantelli only a few seconds to open the scoring, as he and Di Noto combined well a few yards outside the box, before The Pars' No 6 drove a left-footed shot into the bottom corner to give the Pars the best of starts.
Minutes later, it was Marletta who fed the ball into Cantelli's path, only for the forward to complete his brace with a neat finish at the far corner.
It was brilliance at its purest, Dunfermline's free-flowing play causing more than one headache to a Compagnia defensive package, which was once again found out as Cantelli served a great ball to Filippi, who hit the woodwork with his first attempt of the game.
Compagnia tried to pull one back, but Semino was as sharp as ever in denying Pedullà, and soon afterwards Marletta made it 3-0 after receiving a brilliant laid back pass from Buccianti, and firing an amazing dipping shot which left the keeper with no other chance than to pick the ball up from the back of the net.
Semino once again denied the opponents, by parrying a good effort from Contini, but the first half was a one way traffic deal and such factor was further confirmed as Di Noto notched a fourth, finishing off a great move which saw Cantelli and Filippi also involved, the defender's pass being as valuable as the goal itself in a counter-attacking move which only went to highlight how The Pars fare well when they play on wide pitches.

HALF TIME: Compagnia Delle Indie 0 Dunfermline 4

The second half got underway and Dunfermline looked to slow proceedings down a wee bit, as they could count on a nearly unassailable four goal cushion.
However, they had to pay the price for some sloppy attitude at the back, and were provided with two scares, as newly introduced Catanzano pulled one back, before a Pedullà's free kick found the back of the net to make it 4-2.
Semino had to prevent a 3rd from materializing, and he was brilliant to deflect another close range effort towards the right hand post.
The Pars picked themselves together again in massive fashion after having conceded, and Bovalino was picked well by a Cantelli through pass, only for The Pars' No 11 to coolly slot home from close range.
Buccianti netted another a couple of minutes later, as he received the ball inside the keeper's box
and scored at his second attempt, courtesy of a fortunate rebound.
Contini pulled yet another goal back to make it 6-3, but no further twists and turns occurred, therefore Dunfermline finally claimed a deserved first win against Compagnia delle Indie.
And it tasted all the sweeter as the tie wasn't really much of a match.

B. What's wrong with Al?
A: Well, nothing, he's been a bit of a let down in bed recently... Maybe it's my fault...Guess it's just a bad time for him...
B: Well, don't worry too much about it, you see, it'll pass
A: I surely hope you're right, I'm tired of having these problems in our bedroom, and Al is the smallest of those
B: What else is wrong with your bedroom? The ceiling?
A: No, the ceiling is ok, we just got it re-decorated
B: The floor, then?
A: The floor is ok, too...
B: Then what, the wardrobes?
A: No, the wardrobes are nice, we just bought two of them and they fit in well
B: Then what, do you want to install the carpet? Is it the bed itself? The mattresses? The lamplights? What?
A: Let me tell you, Barbara, my biggest problem is that...
B: Please...
A: The biggest problem is... spacious as it is... my bedroom can't conceal an entire football team

PREVIEW - Compagnia Delle Indie

The Pars will encounter Compagnia Delle Indie at St Desiderio on Sunday night, in what will be the third ever tie between the sides.
Last year, the Reds twice had the better of Dunfermline, by massive margins as well, as the Scots were defeated 8-3 away and 0-7 at home, but last year was last year and Dunfermline were not quite the same club they're now.

The sides also met earlier this term, on matchday 1, to spark a thrilling 3-3 draw, sealed by a last minute equaliser from Marletta, whilst goals from Buccianti and Cantelli had given the Pars the lead twice early on, only for Contini to net a superb free-kick either side of a brace from Catanzano.
Sadly, the brilliant on-the-pitch result was later cancelled off by a correct, albeit controversial, FA ruling, which consigned all three points to Compagnia, owing to a breach of signings regulations on the part of Dunfermline AFC.

Dunfermline currently sit second, having collected nine wins on the bounce to open a three-point cushion over 3rd placed Le Café.
On the other hand, Compagnia have only recently started to resemble to the brilliant side capable of producing many stunning free scoring performances last season, notably they eased past Never Alone Soccer at the weekend, courtesy of a 5-3 home win which entitled the Reds to leapfrog their opponents and establish themselves in 6th position..

No matter what the final scoreline reads, this is going to be a terrific match between two quality sides, whose defensive packages are the best in the group and whose attacking options rarely fall short.

GAMEWEEK 11 - Review

Amici di Berto retained top-spot, as it was easily foreseeable, by crushing bottom side Aston Villa Scassi 9-1. It was top against bottom, so the final result, and indeed the impressive scoreline, came as little surprise.
Dunfermline held firm and kept the table toppers' pace by coming out worthy victors in their defeat of Borussia by 4 goals to 2, which represented The Pars' 9th win on the trot.
Le Café were no different and eased past Internazionale, a dipping form side whose hopes of making the playoffs are all but ended midway through the season.
The 5-1 thumping of the Ca de Rissi side came only one week after Inter became the only side to drop points against minnows Aston Villa, which has left the team in disarray.
Las Cuevas kept their recent good form going, by beating Xeneixes 4-2 in a game which could've finished off any ambitions held by the Begato side as well.
Las Cuevas are now sitting 4th, having opened a 5 point cushion over 5th placed Sampierdarena, whose narrow victory - 3-2 - against New Reds Ponente, has on one hand bolstered the yellow-and-red side's claim for a strong finale to the season, on the other hand it's all but consigned New Reds to a tough table-climbing task, as they're now six points adrift of the playoff zone.
Compagnia Delle Indie went back to their old fashion days and showed signs of improvement, by taking advantage of a dipping form moment of opponents Never Alone Soccer, now on a losing streak of 3 games in a row, to collect an important 5-3 home win and establish themselves in 6th position.

BORUSSIA - Analysis

MARCO SEMINO
His goalkeeping has often come to the Pars rescue, and last night performance was absolutely no exception. He pulled off a number of great saves, with his hands, feet, thigh, chest, whatever.
No responsibilities whatsoever about Borussia's goals, Marco is basically indispensible for his team.

FABIO FRASSINELLI
Once again, he ran the defensive pack with his grit, determination and skills. Snuffed out a number of attacks and cleared the lines effectively. Top-notch defending.

GIUSEPPE BUTTITTA
He did well alongside Fabio. He does have a bit of a tendency to foul his opponents a wee bit too often, but his physical presence is second to none and he made his contribution felt on the night.

DAVIDE FILIPPI
Fernandez was a surprise sub, whilst most would've expected him to start. When he came on, though, he handled things extremely well just as usual, proving crucial in blocking shots and runs from the opponents.

ALDO MARLETTA
Not his best game to date, as he lost his man on the 3-2 goal and his free kicks were not as sharp as usual. However, he notched another 2 goals, to bring his season tally to 12 and gift the Pars some relief at a very edgy stage of the game with his 4-2 low drive

MATTEO BOVALINO
Man of the match, by all standards. He ran, passed the ball intelligently and scored a superb goal with his right-footed volley on the juggle. Welcome back to the starting lineup after a couple of games starting as a sub, his partnership with Clegg is as effective as ever.

ANDREA BORREANI
He was given his first start for The Pars since fracturing his ankle back in November. He was the object of a few too many bad tackles flying in from the opponents, but his technique is absolutely out of question. He set up two goals, for Clegg & Bova to coolly finish. Massive addition to the side.

MARCO CANTELLI
Deployed as the lone striker, his presence was missed a few yards back, where he can cause more havoc. In spite of that, he still managed to create a number of openings which tore Borussia's back two apart.
Scored yet another wonderful goal to establish Dunfermline in the lead and was unlucky on another couple of occasions.

ALESSIO DI NOTO
Dino's performance was marked by his intelligent corner-kick, which found Clegg outside the area to make it 4-2 and finish the opposition off. Not quite as brilliant as usual, he kept the ball and allowed his team-mates more options.

GAFFER LUIGI VANIN
He surprised many by fielding an altered side following the triumph against Le Café. Even so, his team responded in terms of results, albeit not performances, but it's 9 in a row now and no one can question his handling of the players.

REFEREE PARODI
He didn't use his cards enough, which may have lead to a few injuries. His judgements on a few free-kicks were not entirely comprehensible, however he did not affect either the run of play or the final score.

DUNFERMLINE - BORUSSIA 4-2

Dunfermline made it nine wins in a row to retain their top-two status at the end of the first round of games.
The Pars, though, didn't produce their finest performance, so the fact they may be learning to win ugly could well be of further comfort for manager Luigi Vanin, who fielded Semino in goal, Frassinelli and Buttita at the back, Marletta and Bovalino in the middle of the park, Borreani and Cantelli upfront.
Bovalino, Buttitta and Borreani returned to the starting lineup after a few games either on the bench or on the sidelines, whilst Buccianti missed out for the first time this term.
The lads decided to dedicate their victory to the Tuscan striker, following an edgy performance which saw the Scots triumph after a few twists and turns.
Semino was excellent to prevent a few good chances turning into goals for Borussia, that clearly had the better of the early skirmishes..
The Pars took the lead through a moment of brilliance from Marco Cantelli, who picked up a long ball from Clegg, coolly controlling the ball with his right before firing a marvellous left-footed shot on the turn, leaving the keeper with no options but to pick up the ball from the back of the net.
Semino was brilliant throughout and Dunfermline added another as Borreani performed a good run down the right flank and played it square down the middle of the box, only for Marletta to pick it up, get past a defender with a bit of trickery and side-foot home in the near low corner.
Bovalino scored a great goal to make it 3-0 before the interval, as Borreani's deep delivery found The Pars' No 11 who controlled the ball and volleyed it on the turn to leave Borussia's goalie baffled and his team-mates euphoric before at half time.

HALF TIME: Dunfermline 3 Borussia 0

Just as the Pars seemed to have paved their way to an easy victory, Borussia made the Fifers' life hard in a nervy second half.
The way tackles flew in from the Borussia's players could've suggested the ref to cool things down, however the man in charge never looked on top of events and let proceedings deteriorate a wee bit.
The Pars had a few chances of their own to try and finish their opponents off, however the pink-and-black side pulled two back in the space of 5 minutes, the former coming from a good move well converted into goal with a curling shot at the far conrner, the latter as Marletta couldn't handle his No 10 opponent, who found some space and headed home.
Things started looking doom and gloom, but the Captain made amends for his earlier mistake, by firing the final goal and make it 4-2.
It was Di Noto who smartly set the goal up with an intelligent corner kick, to find Marletta outside the box. Clegg lashed his low-drive home to all but end any dreams of a comeback on the part of a tenacious Borussia side.

INJURY WOES AHEAD OF BORUSSIA

Gaffer Lou Wanyn must be presented with a formation lineup headache just at the moment, owing to the likeliness of a few absences he'll have to get to grips with ahead of the way too important game against Borussia on Sunday night.
Striker and top Pars' goalscorer Alberto Buccianti is tipped to miss the game owing to personal reasons, whereas it is unclear whether Marco Cantelli will win his battle for fitness in time, following a knock on his hip and thigh which ruled him out of the final edgy minutes against Le Café last week.
Fernandez Filippi suffers from a sore rib, courtesy of a clash against an opponent, which occurred during the same game, although he should be fit enough to make the squad.
Moreover, the presence of Borreani and Alberga hasn't been confirmed as yet, which leaves Wanyn with too few options to make changes during the game.
On top of that, it is to be considered how Borreani and Di Noto cannot play at the same time, both being FIGC tied, as their combined FIGC scores surpass the limit allowed.

The Borussia encounter will be the occasion for newly appointed team manager Erica "Bonnie" Tenconi, to make her debut on the officials' list and sit on the bench alongside the gaffer.
Leonardo Perugini, newly acquired understudy goalkeeper, will also be present at the home ground of G.Mora to be introduced to his new team-mates.

PREVIEW - Gameweek 11

Table-toppers Amici di Berto will face bottom-side Aston Villa Scassi, and they'll be sure to retain top-spot if they beat a side who'd failed to record any points until last week, when they had the better of Internazionale and collected their first win of the season.
Even so, it looks as though Amici may coast to an easy win to end up first midway through the season.
Dunfermline's tie against Borussia is disserted in a dedicated report, please click here.
Le Cafe will also try and re-establish themselves in the top two, or at least cut the three point gap short from that zone, and they're easy favourite for their game against Internazionale, whose form is more and more dipping and whose expectations have gone begging so far.
Inter were the only side to drop points - and, notably, lose - to Aston Villa Scassi, and appear as not-so-resilient opposition to Le Cafe which, on their part, have failed to collect any points from the previous two games against The Pars and Amici Di Berto, much to highlight how the Blacks find it hard when it comes to meeting fellow high flyers.
Elsewhere, in-form Las Cuevas will take on rejuvenated Xeneises, now on a series of two draws on the trot, the latest of which coming at the weekend against highly rated side, turned into unexplainably underachieving Compagnia delle Indie.
Las Cuevas snatched all three points against Never Alone Soccer last week, to open a three point cushion over their rivals and Borussia and establish themselves in a solitary 4th berth.
And another crucial game is going to be played out at St Desiderio, where home side Compagnia entertain Never Alone, in a match which could well define part of each of the two sides' ambitions for the remainder of the campaign.
Sampierdarena, on the back of a good win against Borussia, will play New Reds Ponente, whose latest games have sparked some hope of resurrecting their playoff ambitions, and will try to close in on the sides just above them in the table.

PREVIEW - Borussia

The Pars will take on 5th placed Borussia at their home ground of G.Mora on Sunday, on the back of yet another six-pointer triumph against Le Cafè at the weekend.
Dunfermline will most probably be without Alberto Buccianti, their top goal-scorer, whereas news are expected regarding the other starring frontman, Marco Cantelli, whose hip injury, which he sustained in a crash with Le Cafe's goalie Obbad, will be assessed later this week, in order to verify whether the influential No 6 is available for selection.
It is clear how The Fifers would be numbered, should both strikers miss out on the game.
Borreani could well be deployed upfront, however the young player's presence is not certain either, as other footballing duties may keep him far from Quarto on Sunday.

Borussia, on the other hand, will most certainly miss Vito Vitiello, their Captain, through suspension, following his sending off in their loss to Sampierdarena at the weekend.
The pink-and-black outfit heavily paid the price against Samp, losing 4 goals to league top scorer Andrea Ferrea, and only managing one through Mele.

Borussia and Dunfermline have never taken one another on previously so, as for many other fixtures this season, this is going to be an absolute first for The Pars.

GAMEWEEK 10 - Round Up

Amici Di Berto retained top-spot, courtesy of a hard gained win, away to New Reds Ponente on Saturday night. The home side appear to be putting up a fight for a playoff position, and made life hard for the Pegli side which, however, couldn't widen the gap over 2nd placed Dunfermline.
In actual fact, The Pars finally broke into the top two by defeating Le Cafè in what was labelled as the gameweek cracker. Dunfermline and Le Cafè were level on points before the night, but a brilliant performance in a twisting and turning encounter saw Vanin's men come out worthy winners.
The other game played at Boschetto, between Never Alone and Las Cuevas, was another thriller, the Reds emerging victors by 3 goals to 2 and moving up to a solitary 4th position, much to the disarray of the Blacks - orange on the night -, whose main frontman Parodi failed to even things up at the death, by missing a crucial penalty.
Borussia were run over by a resurgent Sampierdarena side, the 5-1 scoreline widely demonstrating the yellow-and-red superiority on the pitch.
Borussia still sit 5th, together with Never Alone, whilst Sampierdarena have leapfrogged inconsistent Compagnia delle Indie, held to a spectacular 3-3 draw by in-form Xeneises at Begato.
Compagnia do not resemble a bit to the side which were used to free scoring ways last season, and now dangerously sit 8th, just a place and only 4 points above the non-playoff zone.
The Monday night encounter saw Aston Villa Scassi deservedly take their first points in the league, following a 3-2 away win to fellow minnows Internazionale, who've therefore failed to take any advantage of the easiest - theoretically - of matches.
The first round of games is going to reach completion next weekend, as the season is about to enter its crucial part.

BOARD ANNOUNCEMENT - Signings

The board have announced the signing of goalkeeper Leonardo Perugini, who joins from Zonale side Archinav, for which he'll keep on playing as well.
Leonardo joins in order to provide cover for Marco Semino, whose contribution to the team has been absolutely magnificent since he signed for The Pars back in November.
It has been agreed that Perugini, nicknamed "Peleo", will only be called upon should Semino be unavailable for selection.
However, he'll be introduced to the rest of the team on Sunday night, as The Pars take on Borussia for the final game of the first round of games of the regular season.

The board have also announced that Chief-Supporter Erica "Bonnie" Tenconi, who's provided the footage for the goal parade and highlights specials, has now joined the club and their board of directors.
She is also tipped to be a serious candidate for the presidential position, therefore she may be named chairwoman sooner rather than later.
Current chairman and club Captain Aldo Marletta "Clegg" has played down any such suggestions, mainly because he simply isn't interested in such speculations.
"This is everyone's team, not mine, not Wanyn's, not anyone's... everyone's.
He's reported to have said.
"We've a sense of togetherness here, then obviously people need to make decisions, but as far as that aspect is concerned, we usually utilise Buccia's premises, sit at a table - all of us - and drink a lot of wine to make any".

LE CAFE - Analysis

MARCO SEMINO
He produced the finest of saves to deny Le Cafe an equaliser as The Pars were leading by 5 goals to 4.
No responsibility whatsoever as far as the lost goals were concerned, one of those should've even been disallowed (4-3) as Marco was clearly impeeded by one of the Blacks' forwards. The usual priceless contribution.

FABIO FRASSINELLI
His defending may appear tough, but Fabio really knows how to handle hot things.
He even managed to level things up and make it 4-4 from a customary set piece run in. He's absolutely rock-solid at the back, once again rewarded with the armband for a short spell during the game.

DAVIDE FILIPPI
He might've not been at his best last night, but his contribution was felt and effective either way.
Pace and toughness are his best qualities, so no wonder he quickly established himself as one of the regulars in the first team.

GIUSEPPE BUTTITTA
Butti came on as a sub and, although he might well stake his claims to be started more often, he kept his cool and did well to snuff attacks out, against brilliant opponents.
Soon his time will come, meanwhile he's doing a good job when called upon by the gaffer.

ALDO MARLETTA
Clegg scored four goals on the night, two of which from the spot, and he was also denied by the crossbar from a halfway free kick. He kept much feared Ndiaga at bail all match long and produced his best goal in his Pars' career as he juggled the ball before firing a dipping shot whose run ended in the far top corner.

ALESSIO DI NOTO
Dino was restricted to just 25 minutes of play, as regulations do not allow him to play at the same time as Borreani. During a hectic first half, he did what he does best. Fine passing, good openings and intelligent positioning, although he could've provided more cover for the defence.
He surely is a massive player at the club.

ANDREA BORREANI
Borre is an extremely talented player, and he returned to the side last night after enduring a stint on the sidelines following a niggling ankle injury on his debut day back in November.
He could've scored a couple of goals, but wasn't lucky enough to do so, however his skills will surely come good for The Pars as the crucial part of the season is about to kick in.

MATTEO BOVALINO
He was benched for the second time in a row, but he's intelligent and clever enough to know this won't be the case for much longer, as his playing no doubt came in handy as he was thrust onto the pitch. He hasn't found the back of the net for a while now, but he needs not either, as he does pretty much everything else in style.

MARCO CANTELLI
Marco is a great player. He consistently opened up the opposition's defence, and managed an opener from close range, only to be denied by the woodwork twice later in the game.
He provided his team mates and gaffer with a scare, as he limped off the pitch following a collision with the opponents' goalkeeper.
Hopefully, he'll be fully available for the match against Borussia.

ALBERTO BUCCIANTI
This time he really failed to score, and this is an absolute first time this season.
However, his contribution was even more effective than in other occasions, as he fought against the Blacks' defence relentlessly, and earned his side a clear penalty towards the end of the first half.
It is unclear whether he's going to be available for next game, his team-mates surely hope so.

LUIGI VANIN, GAFFER
Wanyn has the evidence of results on his side. One may question his substitution policy, his rotational changes, but 24 points out of as many available in the last 8 games can only signify that he's in total command of his - well rallied - troops.
He only needs to be a bit more talkative with a couple of players, but that let alone, his handling of the team is absolutely spot on.

REFEREE VIDAL:
Fine, it's easy to say the ref had a good performance when you were awarded two penalty kicks and you managed a great win in a six-pointer.
Vidal, though, really proved his worth in an edgy game and, by the way, the penalties were there for all to see...
His only mistake was yellow-carding Cantelli, who clearly got the ball on the occasion, but that won't tarnish his performance at all.

It is also to be remarked how The Pars' striding on the pitch was witnessed by Mr Frassinelli, our very own Mr Fornetto Genovese, for the first time this season.
So, while thanking him once again for getting us out of the hole someone else dug for us, we wish him all the best and we'll be pleased to see him on the stands many more times.

LE CAFE - DUNFERMLINE 5-6

The Pars keep on marching on, as they went back to winning ways - on the pitch - by collecting a triumph in an away victory to highly-rated Le Cafe.
It took 11 goals to decide a winner in a thrilling and enthusing encounter, which The Pars made theirs courtesy of moments of collective and individual brilliance.
Matteo Bovalino was once again benched, as gaffer Wanyn fielded Semino in goal, Frassinelli and Filippi in defence, Marletta and Di Noto composed the midfield package, Cantelli and Buccianti completing the lineup upfront.
The match endured a tense start, as the Fifers were intent on snuffing out the main assets to Le Cafe's side, notably Ndiaga had little room to cause havoc, as Marletta and Di Noto constantly doubled the marking on the influential midfielder.
Further up the park, Cantelli was as sharp as always in opening up the lines of Le Cafe defence, combining well with Buccianti to try and find the back of the net.
It was Marco who netted an opener well inside the first half, as he picked up a loose ball from a scramble in the box, to fire home from close range, following some sloppy goalkeeping.
Cantelli appeared on song and tried to add another, but he was denied by the keeper and later on by the crossbar.
Le Cafe found an equaliser from a throw-in set play, as Fernandez was found out by two opponents who combined well to hit the back of the net from close range.
The Pars went in the lead again as Buccianti was downed inside the area and Clegg converted the ensuing spot-kick.

HALF TIME: Le Cafe 1 Dunfermline 2

Proceedings were resumed and Le Cafe tried to secure yet another equaliser, which they promptly found as The Pars' defence was once again exposed by some sharp passing from Ndiaga.
It all looked doom and gloom soon afterwards, as a very good shot on the turn established Le Cafe in the lead for the first time in the game.
Marletta netted his second of the game after being thrust onto the pitch again, following a short spell on the bench to get some rest.
It was yet another scramble in the box, and the ball fell kindly for the Captain to prepare the shot with his thigh and blast the ball past the keeper from close range.
Seconds later, Le Cafe made it 4-3 from a disputed free-kick, Semino could only manage to have a glimpse at the ball on its way to the back of the net.
Frassinelli equalised once again, following a corner-kick, the ball once again falling kind to the defender's right foot, which administered a fine low shot to beat the goalie and make it 4-4.
Brilliance sparked at its purest as Clegg made it 5-4 to complete his hat-trick.
The midfielder controlled the ball coolly from a poor heading clearance, lost his marker while juggling the ball on his right and chest, before firing a dipping shot whose run ended in the top far corner. Just amazing.
Marletta added a personal forth from the spot again, after a Le Cafe defender handled the ball in the box, to reach double figures for the season.
It was 6-4, only minutes separating the Pars from a glorious and deserved triumph, however the Scots were made to suffer until the very end courtesy of a last minute scare provided by Le Cafe forwards who combined well to make it 6-5.
Both Clegg and Cantelli were early on denied by the woodwork, only to go and highlight how The Pars' sheer class and determination did the job once more.
The ref's final whistle relieved the lads and consigned them to their 8th win on the trot, including the 4-0 win awarded by the FA, which overturned the 2-2 on the pitch result against Sampierdarena.

SPONSORSHIP DEAL - Proposed Investment Plan

LET'S FACE IT.
Had it not been for Fornetto Genovese, we wouldn't even be here at the moment.
It's a sadly well-known story. We were dumped by a sponsor that had promised us everything and left us with almost nothing, except for a thoroughly enjoyable trip to Levico Terme.
However, that's an old story and luckily enough our playing activity has been rescued by Fornetto, courtesy of a last minute agreement reached in order to cover the main expenses for this term's league subscription.
So, while hoping we'll have the privilege of their partnership for more years to come, we also perfectly realise that it wouldn't be fair on our part to impose this to them.
Here-below, you can find a detailed sponsorhip planning leaflet, which we're sure will outline the main guidelines and options for future consideration.

FATTURAZIONE E DETRAZIONE

Distinti saluti
