Alessandro Merello is a first-class defender whose acquisition finally materialised towards the end of the 2008/09 campaign, ahead of the Pars' quest in the Primavera Tournament.
He had long been a marke target for the Fifers, but he pledged his loyalty to his former AICS club Never Alone Soccer, but, as they say, better late than never...
On of only two left-footed players in the team, Stefano Rossi being the other one, Alessandro is a positive-thinking defender, whose pace and tactical wisdom place him amongst the best in the AICS football panorama.
He can also be deployed as a wide midfielder, a position he can cover while contributing to both attacking and defending phases.
A valuable addition to a team that has always had a strong defensive pack, he has been absolutely dazzling in pre-season matches so far.
