Dunfermline, Dunfermline, Dunfermline...
Fabio Frassinelli scored a stoppage time winner to hand The Pars the most precious of wins in a tense and up tempo game.
Much had been made midweek about the abundance of selection at the disposal of gaffer Leonardo Perugini, but as often is the case this season, Dunfermline were left with only 7 players available, as Matteo Bovalino wasn't involved while Mattia Maneschi and Flavio Lenza made themselves unavailable without notice.
Therefore, Perugini fielded Marco Semino in goal, the goalkeeper thus marking his 30th appearance for the club. Fausto Crosetti and 50-time Par Fabio Frassinelli were deployed in defence, while Aldo Marletta, on his 60th club appearance, was fielded on the right flank, with Fabio Boccaccio in the middle of the park and Marco Cantelli completing the midfield pack. Alberto Buccianti played the lone striker role upfront.
Moranego had the better of the early exchanges, their game plan sticking to the well known figure of Poggi who brilliantly orchestrated his teammates' attacks.
Dunfermline, on the other hand, looked out of place and out of sorts but still managed to block a few attacks, Semino coming to their rescue at least once.
The hosts took the lead, though, as a Dassori sidefooted effort found the back of the net towards the end of the first period.
Dunfermline didn't do much at all in the first half, and could consider themselves lucky to have conceded only one goal.
HALF TIME: Moranego 1, Dunfermline 0
Perugini swapped Marletta with Boccaccio, thus handing both players a chance to play in their natural positions. The silver lining for such move came pretty early, with Dunfermline looking more at ease and more convinced while bringing the ball up the pitch.
Marletta was denied twice from as many free-kicks, as Buccianti inadvertedly blocked his shot and a Moranego defender did the same on another occasion. Boccaccio, too, had a couple of brilliant free-kicks greatly saved by Moranego's keeper.
Dunfermline did eventually equalise, though, as a shot by Cantelli was beautifully intercepted bt Buccianti's right-foot, whose deflection proved lethal for the opponents' keeper.
The Pars started to believe they could make the game theirs, which they went close to do as Marletta latched onto a loose ball and fired a shot which wasn't properly cleared by the keeper, the ball cannonning off Cantelli's right knee before establishing the lads in the lead at 2-1.
2 minutes of stoppage time were awarded by referee Gabriele, and a poor clearance from Crosetti and Frassinelli allowed Poggi to make it 2-2 from close range.
Just as the game was looming towards an overall fair draw, Crosetti did the best thing in his game by anticipating Taddeo and sending the ball forwards towards Frassinelli, whose shot on the turn simply proved too hot to handle for Moranego's keeper and gifted Dunfermline 3 vital points.
