ANALYSIS - Borussia

MARCO SEMINO
He could be deemed at fault for the second goal from Borussia, but he reassured the lads with his presence, just as usual. Shame his season looks to have reached its end ahead of the finals, but his contribution to the league winning campaign has been absolutely fantastic and he'll be missed.

DAVIDE FILIPPI
He played extremely well, snuffed out attacks and was often penalised by a few debatable ref's decisions, most notably when he got cautioned for a foul he'd initially suffered rather than conceded. This means he'll miss out on the first playoff game against Moro Populars, and his absence could be a massive downside.

FABIO FRASSINELLI
His partnership with Filippi has been one of the keys to Dunfermline's success so far this season, and it's not by mere chance that The Pars conceded the fewest goals in the group.
As for Filippi, he wasn't always supported by the midfield pack on the night.

MATTEO BOVALINO
This player has got quality, therefore he's quality. Then, he doesn't mind putting in a little extra effort and sacrifice for the team, which makes him even more precious for his club's fortunes.
Monday night was no exception.

ALDO MARLETTA
Not his best game of the season and nowhere near his top form. Even so, he scored from a free-kick and was involved in at least two of the other goals of his team. The one week break ahead of the finals will most probably do for him to regain some form.

ANDREA BORREANI
He hit the ground running on the night, and was unfortunate to limp off the pitch with what appeared at first as a recurrence of a fractured ankle, which had kept him out for a couple of months following his debut against New Reds Ponente back in November 2007.
Hopefully, the final diagnosis won't be as harsh.

MARCO CANTELLI
Another hat-trick, to bring his season tally to 37, and yet again a man-of-the-match performance, this player's taken off and he looks unstoppable at the minute.

ALBERTO BUCCIANTI
Once again, he proved one of the in-form lads. He created openings and fought with the opposition's defence to a good extent.
He didn't score on the night, but he's definitely ready for a mouth-watering final part of the season.

GAFFER LUIGI VANIN
He couldn't count on Buttitta, which is going to be the object of scrutiny over the next couple of weeks, as his defender didn't turn up without providing either him or any of his team-mates with any sort of explanation for his absence.
This resulted in Filippi being injured and yellow-carded, which means Dunfermline's No 8 is going to be suspended for the game against Moro Populars.
The manager kept his cool and witnessed yet another night full of heroics, albeit scarce in brilliance.

REFEREE NICOLINI
Filippi's caution let alone, he didn't make any major mistakes. However, he rarely looked capable of handling a not-so-difficult game to referee.
