PREVIEW - Hellas Begato

DIVISION C
EXCELLENCE PLAYOFFS - GROUP B
CURRENT STANDINGS

Massacroni 3 Pts (Goal Difference +4)
Dunfermline AFC 3 Pts (+3)
Moro Populars 0 Pts (-3)
Hellas Begato 0 Pts (-4)

Hellas Begato failed to turn up in forces for the opening match of their playoff campaign against Masscaroni last Sunday, as only 4 players made their way to the Ungaretti ground and the game was subsequently called off and Massacroni were contextually handed a 4-0 win.
This means Hellas will be desperate for points against Dunfermline on May 25th, whereas The Pars will most definitely make the group top-two should they beat their opponents on a matchday also including a fixture between Moro Populars and Massacroni themselves.

Marco Semino, Dunfermline's No 1, is not certain to feature as he may well be otherwise engaged, but should he not be available for selection, the odds are for Leonardo Perugini to start in his place, following Antonio Minnella's disappointment at being withdrawn from the squad just minutes before the time deadline the lads had been given to turn up at the pitch last Sunday.
Such an issue has also raised concerns about the handling of and communication with the members of the squad on the part of Luigi Vanin, the gaffer, who is going to be summoned by his club once the playoffs have reached their completion, in order to discuss any possible developments ahead of next season.
Certainly, the tier Dunfermline will play in will have a major bearing on the club's decision as to whether Vanin should soldier on next term, however that will not be the only factor to be taken into account.
At the back, Davide Filippi will return following his one match ban, with both Fabio Frassinelli and Giuseppe Buttitta also available. The latter surely made an impact on the game against Moro Populars last Sunday, however he's not certain to retain his starting spot agains Hellas.
In midfield, Alessio Di Noto is probably going through his best period of the season and whilst Matteo Bovalino's form has never been a concern, Aldo Marletta, too, is getting back to his best after a relatively dipping period.
Marco Cantelli will be either deployed on the left flank or upfront, but the former option appears more likely, with Alberto Buccianti set to play the lone striker role.
Andrea Borreani's involment appears less likely as the midfielder is still trying to recover from a niggling ankle injury, therefore Vanin may well count on as few as 8 outfield players for the game.

This is going to be the first-ever encounter between the two sides, Hellas Begato having plied their trade in Division C Group C during the course of the regular season, occupying the runners-up spot at the end of it, just 4 points behind league winners A Selesiun.
Their main marksman, Riciputo, is nearing a 40 goal tally, while other notable goalgetters are recognisable in Medicina, Mammone and Venezia.
