DUNFERMLINE - MORO POPULARS 4-1

Dunfermline kick-started their playoff campaign by easing past Moro Populars at Via Ungaretti on Monday night.
Vanin couldn't count on the suspended Filippi and the newly injured Borreani, but Semino was a welcome surprise inclusion as he rendered himself available at the last minute to leapfrog Minnella in the goalkeeping pecking order, with Perugini playing second fiddle to the influential goalie.
The defence was composed by Frassinelli and Buttitta, while Marletta, Bovalino and Cantelli were initially deployed in midfield, Buccianti playing upfront as a lone striker.
Proceedings got underway and Moro Populars immediately lived up to the expectations, by sticking to a gameplan which didn't contemplate any particular flare nor brilliance.
A tight side at the back, Moro could deploy D'Izzia and Giannoni in the middle, providing plenty of muscles albeit without an extra spark capable of imperilling Dunfermline much.
However, just as The Pars appeared to start exerting some sort of stranglehold on their opponents, Moro's topscorer Rocco Baldi found an opener as his shot from the right hand flank left Semino fazed and the ball found its way onto the back of the net to make it 1-0.
Vanin resumed his habit of making a change during the course of the first half, and soon introduced Di Noto for Buccianti, contextually shifting Cantelli upfront and Marletta to the left flank.
Such move paid dividends as Marletta dispossessed Baldi in midfield, to start a counter attacking move, with Cantelli making a brilliant switch of play in towards Di Noto, whose ensuing low drive found Fedeli, Moro Populars keeper, late on the dive.

HALF TIME: Dunfermline 1, Moro Populars 1

The second half got underway and Dunfermline soon looked to have the better of their opponents, however a cutting edge was hard to be found and it took a customary free-kick to establish the Scots in the lead.
Marletta once again latched onto a loose ball in midfield, made some ground upfront, only for D'Izzia to bring him down close to the left flank.
The ensuing free-kick was taken softly but firmly by Marletta, who gave his side the lead, also courtesy of a Cantelli movement, which wrongfooted Fedeli.
Moro had to send their charges forward, which played in favour of Dunfermline, who found a perhaps decisive goal as Cantelli hit his 38th of the season after picking the ball from a long range clearance and smashing it past Fedeli to make it 3-1.
Di Noto produced yet another moment of brilliance a few minutes later, as he carried the ball forward and found himself with Buccianti and Cantelli to choose from to cap the move.
He picked the latter, who coolly drove the ball past Fedeli to finish the opponents off and make it 4-1
