PREVIEW - Massacroni

Sunday's encounter against Massacroni may not be do or die for Dunfermline just yet, but promotion to the second tier of AICS football will have to come across this crossroad, one way or another.
Unfortunately for The Pars, the potentially hardest game of the season looms at their lowest moment of collective form, owing a number of notable absentees who'll not be able to partake in the decisive game.
39 goal Marco Cantelli will not feature, owing to the injury that hit him last week against Hellas Begato, likely to sideline him for the contingent round of 16 against either Sampierdarena or Real Manin should Dunfermline fail to make the Excellence Group B top two.
Moreover, defender Fabio Frassinelli is also likely to miss out on the game, as he's on his recovery path from a measles affection, but the odds don't look any good for any sort of active involvement in the game.
This'll most probably trigger the deployment of manager Luigi Vanin at the back, considering the simultaneous absence of defender Giuseppe Buttitta, on a permit to see his family in Sicily, and the likeliness of that of goalkeeper Marco Semino, who was at once stage considered to be fielded at the back with Leonardo Perugini starting in goal.
Semino's on a fight for fitness, but a calf injury is seriously restraining his chances of featuring on Sunday.
The midfield pack is another reason for concern, as Alessio Di Noto has only just recovered from a knock on his back, whilst Aldo Marletta and Matteo Bovalino are two of way too few good news, their level of form nearing their respective best.
Andrea Borreani may also be called upon, but he's tied to Di Noto as far as FIGC scores are concerned and also not at this form peak following a slow recovery from a niggling ankle injury he sustained on the final matchday of the regular season against Borussia.
The only recognised striker available, Alberto Buccianti, will definitely start upfront, trying to carry a bigger burden than he has had to all season long, as his goals and back passed will be desperately required in the absence of Cantelli.

Should Dunfermline win the game, they'll be most certainly promoted, although they shall overcome the quarter finals formal hurdle to officially be sure of their Division B status.
Anything other than a win, on the other hand, will leave the lads with a further bit of nailbiting to do, firstly as they'll have to hear about the result from the other group encounter between Moro Populars and Hellas Begato, secondly because in case they should finish either 3rd or 4th in the group, they'll have to face a round of 16 tie with no further "parachutes".
Massacroni won their league group and currently top Excellence Playoff Group B, courtesy of a
4-0 off the pitch win against Begato themselves, who failed to turn up for the opening game of this phase, and a draw against Moro Populars.
