DUNFERMLINE - NEW REDS PONENTE 4-2

The Pars collected their 12th win in a row by beating a tenacious New Reds Ponente side by 4 goals to 2 at their home ground of G.Mora on Sunday night.
Perugini made his second start for the club, although Semino turned up - much to the boys' delight - on the stands midway through the first half.
The back pack was once again composed by Frassinelli and Filippi, whereas Marletta and Bovalino were deployed in midfield, Di Noto returning to the starting lineup to partner up with Buccianti upfront.
As usual, when it comes to home games, Dunfermline's performance was far from scintillating, but 3 points were all the lads needed on a night when Cantelli missed out through a one match ban whilst Borreani wasn't involved owing to the gaffer's rotational policy.
The Pars had a few chances to open the score and they indeed did so as Marletta took a free-kick, which was blocked off by a defender and fell far too kindly for Buccianti, who netted his 20th goal of the term, 19th in the league, from close range.
New Reds showed they're far behind from where they'd deserve to be in the league table, and found a compelling equaliser, capped by a close range header following a marvellous move which saw a mixture of low passes and crosses to find Dunfermline's defence out.
It took a customary free-kick from Marletta to restore The Pars' lead, as No 5's effort proved too hot to handle for the opponents' keeper, which was left baffled by the cool curling of the shot.
Minutes later, Di Noto played a fantastic ball towards Marletta, who got past his man and coolly fired home to make it 3-1 before the interval.

HALF TIME: Dunfermline 3 New Reds Ponente 1

The second half got underway and New Reds immediately produced another great move to shorten the gap to just one goal, after a couple of smart passes on the right hand flank entitled Stefanzl to fire an unstoppable shot from just outside the box to make it 3-2.
Things got a wee bit edgy for the lads, and it took two marvellous saves from Perugini to deny Stefanzl and Ilardo, from a halfway effort and a close range attempt respectively.
Di Noto once again proved his nettle by creating a crisp opening and feed the ball in Buccianti's path, but the Tuscan striker spurned a good chance.
Ilardo tried again and just as the ball looked set to find its way in, Clegg pulled off a diving header to prevent an equaliser from materialising.
Bovalino was once again on a great night, and his contribution in midfield was as spot on as ever, whilst Frassinelli, Filippi and Buttitta once again showed why they're the best defence of the league, although the Sicilian was forced to limp off with what appeared as a thigh strain midway through the second half.
The Pars were handed the easiest of chances to finish New Reds off, as one of the opponents' defence clearly handled the ball in the box, to leave Clegg to settle it with his hat-trick and his 17th of the season.
