Amici Di Berto re-gained the group leadership at the weekend, after beating fellow high-flyers Le Cafè in a surprise 5-3 ending. Dunfermline kind of failed to take full advantage and break into the top two as they were held by brave Sampierdarena at G.Mora, the yellow and red establishing a two-goal cushion before goals from Buccianti and Clegg levelled things up either side of the half-time break.
This means The Pars are now three points adrift of the top-spot, and two away from 2nd berth.
Elsewhere, 4th place Never Alone were unlikely losers away to New Reds, thus being reached by Borussia and Las Cuevas, which won their encounters against dipping form Compagnia delle Indie (1-0) and pointless Aston Villa Scassi (8-4) respectively.
Compagnia have failed to live up to expectations thus far in the season, and are now the closest side, together with rejuvenated Sampierdarena, to the non-playoff zone, now only three points adrift for New Reds.
An enthusing 3-3 draw between Xeneises and Internazionale was a sort of mark to define the negative moment for both sides, still occupying 10th and 11th place respectively, ahead of an in-crisis Aston Villa Scassi side, which have now failed to collect any points from 9 encounters and, although they're signalling their intent by adding to their goalscoring tally, they look all the worse in defence.
