Davide Filippi "Fernandez" joined The Pars during their rather disappointing Torneo Primavera campaign last term. Having missed out on a couple of games at the beginning of the present season through a thorougly enjoyable trip to Australia, he got back into action, just in time to savour an inredibly good run of results, with four wins out of four against New Reds, Aston Villa, Never Alone and Internazionale.
Deployed with equally good profit at the back or wide on the flanks, Fernandez gave us his thoughts about the next league game, against league strugglers Xeneises.
"We don't have to have fear of Xeneises. We have to impose our tactical and technical superiority and - as old Bob said - everything's gonna be alright"
Such blatant self-confidence and trust in his team may well have derived from the positive run of form The Pars have been enjoying of late, however Fernandez is keen to push it to the next level
"During the first part of the season, I could see a real team out there on the pitch.
I think we got ourselves on the right path to try and win this league, we've got a lot of great players and now they're all back in the fold, they'll help us perform even better, better than ever actually".
Dunfermline take on Xeneises at their home stadium G.Mora Quarto on 13th January 2008, kick-off 8.30 PM
