PREVIEW XENEISES - Clegg

As the season is about to enter its crucial part, The Pars will be able to count on Aldo Marletta, returning to action after a 4 match interruption of his playing activity owing to a business trip to the Netherlands Antilles. "Clegg" has outlined for dunfermlineafc.blogspot.com the main features of the game lying ahead, which will see The Pars' first ever meeting against Xeneises.
"The lads were absolutely outstanding during my absence. I was feeling for the games from about 5,000 miles, and I was constantly updated by our supporters on the stands. I was trying to get a ball all the time, so as to provide an ideal extra-man beyond the distance between me and the boys. I hope there'll be more to come for us as the season resumes, we have a few tough games now and we'd like to extend our current run of form.
"Xeneises are an in-form side, as they've managed six points out of as many available in the past two games. Their confidence might've been at the low at one point, but they put some commitment in and after a somewhat dismal start to the campaign, they got Le Cafe's scalp, which really tells you all you need to know. You may argue that their second vicory - against bottom and pointless team Aston Villa Scassi - was nothing spectacular or surprising, but what I know for sure is it's going to be a very tough encounter for us"
On competition for a starting slot, following the balance the side seems to have reached during his stint in the Caribbean, Clegg declared:
"Well, the most important thing is that we win games. Whether I'm in the starting lineup, come off the bench, or get substituted at whatever stage of the game, that is none of my concern as long as the team gets the result. Nor would it be any of my concerns should we not get the results. Those decisions lay with the manager, and we're all backing him in that respect, completely entrusting him to make the right judgements and ensuing decisions.
We got to a point where we have a bunch of players who can all equally play their part, so it doesn't matter who's in the main frame and who's left to play the waiting game.
Another thing I know for sure is that the league is long enough for everyone to get a chance and a run at first team football.
I'm raring to go at the minute, and really can't wait until the ref blows his whistle on Sunday week, it's been long enough without football and I really look forward to be involved for the next game"

Dunfermline take on Xeneises at their home stadium G.Mora Quarto on 13th January, kick-off 8.30 PM.
