PREVIEW - Amici di Berto

The Pars will take on table-toppers Amici di Berto, in an away fixture which will be played out at Ungaretti on Sunday night.
This is the first-ever encounter between the sides, one which has quickly been labelled as the most interesting match of the week.

Amici di Berto can count on the best attack of the group, having scored 46 goals, whilst the Pars’ second-best firing package sits at 39.
Defence-wise, stats appear even more similar, the sides’ roles being reversed, as Dunfermline defence has conceded the fewest goals (17), and Amici di Berto’s one is just behind such figure on 19.

The striking partnership composed by Calcagno and Steiner, with the excellent goal-scoring contribution from midfielder Bruzzone, have paved the way for an extremely good start to the campaign, which saw Amici drop only two points, against high-flyers Never Alone Soccer, in a 3-3 draw.

On the other hand, The Pars will also have their say, Cantelli and Buccianti appearing absolutely on fire, joined by a goal-capable midfield package of Marletta, Bovalino and Di Noto, all available for selection.

Dunfermline have now achieved five wins on the bounce, and are looking for an upset which would hardly gain them any positions in the table’s pecking order at the weekend, mainly owing to the fact second-placed Le Café will play bottom and pointless team Aston Villa Scassi.

However, there’s more to this game than just provisional leadership or current position, as an away win of such an impact could well fuel The Pars with even more ambition and desire to succeed in the league.

Giuseppe Buttitta should finally make his return, having missed out on last week’s mauling of Xeneises through illness, and the previous fixtures against Never Alone Soccer and Internazionale through other duties.
