Dunfermline continued on their quest for a league winning ending to the season by defeating Le Café by 5 goals to 4 and contextually finishing any hopes held by their opponents as to making the playoffs.
Cantelli produced a 4 goal performance to add to his tally and bring it to 34 for the season, while Buccianti added another.
Newly acquired goalkeeper Antonio Minnella made his competitive debut for the Pars, Buttitta and Filippi composing the back two. Di Noto and Bovalino were deployed in midfield, whereas Cantelli and Buccianti teamed up once again upfront.
Marletta missed out through suspension, and Frassinelli had little chance to impress as he was introduced at the beginning of the second half, only to limp off the pitch minutes later as a fierce shot from Scaramuccia badly hit his head. Nothing major, though, as Dunfermline defender's conditions didn't look worrying after the game.
Dunfermline got off to a brilliant start and soon found an opener, as Di Noto provided Cantelli with a wonderful chipped through ball, the forward finishing in quite some style to make it 1-0 from close range.
Minutes later, an indirect free-kick was awarded to The Pars in the box, Di Noto fired against the wall, before Cantelli latched onto the ensuing loose ball and fired home.
A brilliant move involving Di Noto and Buccianti allowed Cantelli to pick up an early hat-trick from close range.
Minnella produced a string of fine saves to keep Le Café out, but he could do little when a brilliant move on the part of the away side was capped from only one yard out, breathing some fresh air into Le Café's spirits.
HALF TIME: Dunfermline 3, Le Café 1
Things started looking a bit edgy for Dunfermline early in the second half, as Scaramuccia made it 3-2 from a loosely conceded free-kick.
However, Cantelli was on one of his finest nights and collected his and the team's 4th goal, with Buccianti playing a pivotal part, by chesting the ball off into the No 6's path. Cantelli had no hesitations in driving the ball past Obbad, the away team goalkeeper.
Buccianti scored a goal himself minutes later, as he coolly controlled the ball, found some space in between Le Café's defenders and blasted home to make it 5-2.
Had it not been from yet another goal from a free-kick, this time converted by Frascatani, the game would've been over, but the 5-3 goal sparked more life into Le Café's ranks and Scaramuccia netted another from yet another free-kick to make Dunfermline feel as though their opponents were breathing down their necks.
Le Café had a couple of half chances to try and equalise, whereas Dunfermline threw a couple away of their own before the final whistle came to the table-toppers' request.
