PREVIEW - Xeneixes

Dunfermline will take on 9th placed Xeneixes at the Begato pitch on Sunday night, on a matchday involving fellow pace setters Amici Di Berto, who will play host to Compagnia delle Indie, and chasers Sampierdarena, who'll take on bottom team Internazionale on the Monday night encounter.
The Pars currently sit 1st in the table, level on points with Berto, albeit holding better direct-match and comprehensive goal differences, whilst Xeneixes just squandered a glorious chance to pull off the great playoff escape last weekend, by resulting to be only the second side to drop points against Aston Villa Scassi.
The 3-4 home defeat meant that Xeneixes failed to move within touching distance of 8th placed New Reds, to all but end - once and for all - any real playoff hopes for the Begato-based outfit.
The big turmoil was sparked by the harsh-but-not-so-harsh FA decision, which saw Le Café incur a 19 point deduction following the unlawful fielding of a player against Xeneixes themselves. Contextually the 5-2 defeat incurred was also quashed and later overturned into a 4-0 win that gave Xeneixes a real chance to have a go at the final part of the season.
However, having lost their home fixture to Aston Villa, Xeneixes are now well out of the frame and, unless they can produce the unlikeliest of upsets on Sunday, they'll have poor chances of collecting anything more than 9th place.

Marco Semino will most probably return in goal, after missing out on the last 5 games through a niggling knee-injury, whilst Perugini should play second fiddle to him and intervene should it be necessary.
At this stage, there are no further news of new Par-to-be Antonio Minnella, who should however complete his transfer from Division A side Virtusestri in the coming few days, with a look to making his competitive debut in 3 weeks' time, against Le Café.
Buttitta will be available for the defence pack, together with Frassinelli and Filippi, who managed to score his first goal for Dunfermline last Sunday.
Marletta and Bovalino are fully fit in midfield, and Borreani should be involved too, his last appearance for The Pars dating back to the home game against Borussia.
Although this may appear to restrict Di Noto's chances of being involved, this'll probably be a one-off during the hectic run-in for the group final matchdays and the ensuing finals, during which each and every member of the squad is going to be sounded out for availability week-in week-out, and everyone's contribution is going to be needed.
Alberga should also feature at some stage, whereas both Cantelli and Buccianti are good for selection and should have a starting slot apiece.

Dunfermline met Xeneixes once before, earlier this year, as league proceedings were resumed on 13th January after the Christmas and New Year's festivities.
It took the Pars a while to open the score, and that also required some brilliance as it was a Cantelli's screamer, but it took them little effort from then onwards, as they romped to victory via a final 9-1 scoreline, courtesy of yet another screamer, and indeed one of the best goals of the season so far, by Cantelli, whilst another brace came from Buccianti and Di Noto produced a hat-trick.
Goals from returning midfielder Marletta and Frassinelli ensured proceedings were ended a wee bit before the set end of the game, as the 9 goal rule was enacted to finish Xeneixes - who had pulled one back through a Firpo's free-kick - off.
